Lakme Radiance Complexion Compact Review & Swatches

Heylo Everyone,

Sorry for late post as I was travelling. I’ll be a bit irregular for couple of days more as I’m out of town for my best friend’s wedding. Anyways today’s post is about Lakme Radiance Complexion Compact. Compact is one regular base makeup product in my vanity. I skip concealers, foundation/BB/CC creams most of the times and just rely on compact for natural coverage and for days when I have sleep deprived eyes I go for concealer and compact over it. So I keep experimenting with different compacts and today I’m here with review of Lakme Radiance Complexion Compact.

Lakme Radiance Complexion Compact comes in 4 shades: Pearl, Marble, Shell and Coral. Out of these pearl has pink undertones, Marble has neutral undertones, Shell has yellow undertones and coral has slight pink undertones. Pearl and Marble will suit fair to medium skin tones and Shell & coral are apt for dusky skin tones.

My Experience with Lakme Radiance Complexion Compact:

Packaging:

Lakme Radiance Complexion Compact comes in a maroon plastic sturdy packaging with mirror on lid and a soft sponge applicator housed inside. Packaging is travel friendly and the mirror and sponge included are good for touch-ups.

Texture & Coverage:

While swatching product using my fingers I felt the texture is chalky but on application it blends into skin and does not look or feel chalky at all. My skintone varies between NC30-35 and pearl is perfect match for my skin. Coverage is sheer to medium and due to this it gives natural finish. Check out the Swatch:

Lakme Radiance Complexion Compact Pearl Swatches

Performance:

Lakme Radiance Complexion Compact is super light weight and when applied, it doesn’t leave powdery cast on skin and does not cling to dry patches. It instantly mattifies my combination skin and keep the oil at bay for good 4-5 hours which is impressive for a compact with such a low price tag. I like that it gives natural finish to my skin and even with pink undertones in it, it does not highlight my pink undertones. Overall I totally love it.

Lakme-Radiance-Complexion-Compact-Review

What I like:

  • Natural coverage.

  • Non-powdery finish.

  • No cast and does not emphasize dry patches.

  • Keeps combination skin oil free for 4-5 hours.

  • Neutralize pink undertones.

  • Comes with mirror and sponge(Good enough).

  • Dirt cheap.

  • Online available at discounted price(most of the time).

What I do not like:

  • Limited shades.

  • Full ingredients missing.

Lakme Radiance Complexion Compact Shades

Final Verdict: 4.5/5

At this price tag it is surely a winner for me. I say girls give it a try. Try 2 shades to find your perfect match and If you find your shade match, it is one of the best budget friendly compacts available in India.

BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream Review

BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream Review

Heylo Everyone,

I have mentioned before also that I’m grateful to have blessed with beautiful long hair but the pollution can ruin anything and hence it did cause hair breakage long time back and due to which i get flyaways in my hair all the time. So whenever I see Anti-frizz products I jump with joy and want to try them asap. So when BBlunt team has sent me their BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream as a part of #SenseiOfSmooth campaign, I was super duper happy and decided to try and test it from the very next hair wash.

BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream Review

I have been using BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream for almost 20days/9 washes now and I’m here to share my views on it…Read on to know the details :)

BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream:

This versatile cream ensures your hair looks great, however hot,dry or humid it gets out there. It enhances natural movement, smoothens and leaves you in charge, whatever the weather.

How to use BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream:

Works best on damp, towel dried hair. Take a small quantity into your palms. Apply evenly, focusing on mid-lengths & ends, keeping away from the scalp. Style as desired.

My Experience with BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream:

Packaging:

The packaging is my favorite. It comes in a black-grey ombre bottle with information written in white and pink font. The pump dispenser has a simple lock mechanism which makes it fuss-free, easy to use and travel-friendly.

BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream_Packaging

Consistency & Scent:

BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream has non-sticky creamy texture but a light creamy consistency. It has mild floral fragrance which linger a while and I love it.

BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream Swatch

Performance:

  1. On Non-oiled hair post wash without conditioner: I have used it the way it is suggested on the packaging. I washed my non-oiled hair with shampoo and then applied BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream on my towel-dried hair. I spread it evenly and then used my tangle-teezer to comb through to spread it more evenly. After drying my hair had very less flyaways and by end of the day my hair looked more sleek with almost all the flyaways tamed. Anti-frizz effect lasted for almost 2 days.

  2. On non-oiled hair post wash with conditionerIt worked better at taming frizz. Almost negligible flyaways. If you have conditioned your hair watch out for quantity of this cream, do not over-apply.

  3. On Oiled hair post wash: Next time I washed my oiled hair and applied this on towel dried hair, it performed even better and while drying also I saw almost negligible flyaways. Win-win for 2 days.

  4. On towel-dried hair before low heat styling: Then I have decided to put it to heat styling test. I usually do not heat-treat my hair but I have decided to use my Philips hair styler(Review coming soon). I washed my hair, applied BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream on towel-dried hair, then used my Philips Air styler to blow-dry my hair, It worked beautifully and I did not see any flyaways and my hair felt soft and silky and hydrated without any extra heat protectant. It did not let blow-drying strip any moisture from my hair. But I would suggest to use a heat protectant if you use high heat-treatment frequently. Effect lasted 3 days(few points to my Philips Air styler as well).

  5. On dry hair before low heat styling: I have tried it on dry hair as well and styled my hair with Philips air styler and it has not made my hair greasy/flat and my hair have looked well behaved.

BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream

What I like:

  • Anti-frizz claim is true.

  • Frizz control for 2 days.

  • Does not weight down hair.

  • No residue or buildup on hair.

  • Non-sticky.

  • Good enough for low-heat styling as well.

  • Reasonably priced and goes a long way.

  • Nice mild floral fragrance.

  • I can skip conditioner with this.

What I do not like:

  • Might not be long lasting anti-frizz effect on extremely frizzy hair.

  • Not conditioner replacement for dry hair.

Final Verdict: 4.5/5

BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream works well at taming frizz and fulfills its anti-frizz claim to great extent. It is really handy and time saving whenever you are feeling too lazy or in too much hurry to apply conditioner. The frizz control lasts for 2 days on my hair, though on extremely frizzy hair the effect may last only a day. It does not add extra shine to hair. Do not over-apply it otherwise your hair might look flat.

Recommended: Absolutely Yes.
Repurchase: Yes. This has been best leave-in treatment so far :)

So Definitely I’m in love with BBlunt Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream these days. Have you used this product? Share your thoughts below.

Till next time…take care…xoxo.

My Envy Box Feb16_Forest Essentials Lightening & Brightening Tejasvi Emulsion

I have received 8gm sample of famous FE Tejasvi Emulsion. This has been in my wishlist but never bought it because of the price, I wanted to try their sample and here it is in all its glory :) Super excited to try it out.

2. Forest Essentials Silkening Shower Wash:

My Envy Box Feb16_Forest Essentials Silkening Shower Wash

I love shower gels and when they come all chemical free, there is nothing better :) This is a good 50ml sized sample and good enough to judge the product.

3. Forest Essentials Luxury Sugar Soap:

My Envy Box Feb16_Forest Essentials Luxury Sugar Soap

I am not a fan of soaps but this is sugar soap and claims to be clarifying and purifying. It has Organic natural oils. 50gm is tiny but I don’t mind when it is by FE.

4. Forest Essentials Hand Pounded Organic Fruit Scrub:

My Envy Box Feb16_Forest Essentials Hand Pounded Organic Fruit Scrub

This is again hand pounded organic fruit scrub, so much goodness in the name itself :) Excited to try it out. I rarely use scrubs as most of them manage to irritate my skin, hoping this will suit my sensitive skin :) I feel 8gm sample is bit less to judge a scrub.

5. Forest Essentials Ultra Rich Dazzling Body Lotion:

My Envy Box Feb16_Forest Essentials Ultra Rich Dazzling Body Lotion

I can never get enough of body lotions and I like to try different ones. This is a 50ml sample which is good enough to judge the product but it surely is costly for a body lotion.

I wanted to try so many FE products as I had great experience with their rose water and ubtan. This box is full of Forest Essentials Samples and the sample sizes are good enough to judge the products except scrub. And here is special 10% discount coupon when you shop from forest essentials website:

Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Heylo Everyone,

How’s your week going so far? Today I’m here with Review of Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue Shampoo & Conditioner. Schwarzkopf is one of the leading and established brands in hair industry.  I have used their moisture boost shampoo long back and like it but that time I was not a blogger so no review :) Schwarzkopf products are costly but what is cheaper these day 😐 When we were relocating that time I packed all my stuff and shipped through movers & packer so I have used so many low end shampoo conditioners(actually whatever I could find) that my hair went crazy and got damaged so I have decided to give Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue Shampoo & Conditioner duo a try. I have already mentioned it before that I prefer to use shampoo and conditioner from the same range if available, so Let’s read on to find out does this shampoo-conditioner duo do what it claims…

My Experience with Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue Shampoo & Conditioner:

Packaging:

Not very sturdy. I dropped conditioner bottle and it broke stopper in the cap which fits the opening from where product comes out. not travel friendly as these are salon packaging.

Schwarzkopf-Bonacure-Repair-Rescue-Shampoo-Conditioner

Smell & Consistency:

Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue Shampoo & Conditioner smell really nice and salon like, the smell linger for a day. Consistency of shampoo is on runny side but not very runny. Consistency of conditioner is creamy lotion like.

Performance of Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue Shampoo:

When I started using it on my crazy damaged(broom like) hair, it did not work on me infact it made them worse after 2 washes. It cleaned my scalp really well but my hair were going in every possible direction. Since I have invested my hard earned money in it and also I have a bit knowledge about hair and body going into detox mode, I have decided to continue for few more washes and I’m glad that I did. After 3-4 washes it has actually started working on my hair and started taming them and giving them more sleeker and smoother look like their actual self. It cleaned hair and scalp properly and gave squeaky clean no residue feeling. My hair have started looking their actual healthy self.

Schwarzkopf-Bonacure-Repair-Rescue-Shampoo-Review

On oiled hair you need a bit extra shampoo and 2 washes to wash out oil but anyways I go for 2 washes everytime so I don’t mind.

What I like:

  • Squeaky clean scalp and hair without any residue or product buildup.

  • hydrating formula.

  • start repairing hair damage after few washes.’

  • Gives shiny sleek look to hair with volume.

  • Lathers well.

What I do not like:

  • Packaging is not travel-friendly.

  • Price may be con for some.

Rating: 4/5

Performance of Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue Conditioner:

Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue Conditioner  is creamy lotion which is not as thick as few conditioners I used. It spreads easily and I need a bit extra amount than my normal conditioner. While washing it has seemed to do the job well but after wash I have realized that it is not as creamy, moisturizing and hydrating as it should be. I did not feel any difference in my hair when I used this with shampoo ans when I used shampoo alone. It has not tamed any extra flyaways and performed pretty average for my normal hair.

I would say it might suit oily hair people but definitely not for normal/dry hair people.

Schwarzkopf-Bonacure-Repair-Rescue-Conditioner-Review

What I like:

  • No residue/build up on hair.

  • Spreads easily and washes out easily.

  • Does not weigh down hair.

What I do not like:

  • Packaging.

  • Not moisturizing even on my normal hair.

  • Does nothing for even slight frizz.

  • Not much difference in my hair hair with and without it.

Rating: 2.5/5

Final Verdict:

From Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue Shampoo & Conditioner duo I have really like Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue Shampoo as it worked on my hair. It repaired the damage and restored health of my hair by making them more manageable, healthier, sleeker and shinier. It is mild enough to be used daily. I recommend it. I am going to repurchase it :)

Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue Conditioner on the other hand has failed to impress me. It is just an average conditioner but with a hefty price tag. It did not do anything for my normal hair. It did not make any difference. I do not recommend it for normal/dry hair people. People with oily hair can give it a try. It is not a repurchase for me. I would rather love to try masque from the range next time.

These are my views on Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue Shampoo & Conditioner duo. Have you used any of these 2 products? What are your thoughts about these? share in comment section below :)

Till next time…take care…xoxo.

Maybelline the Colossal Kohl Crushed Emerald, Jewelled Jade & Smoked Silver Review & Swatches

Heylo everyone,

I’m trying to keep up the pace for reviews here and trying to cover most genres :) This year I have planned to be more regular and cover variety of categories 😛 So Today’s post is going to be review and swatches of Maybelline the Colossal Kohl Crushed Emerald, Jewelled Jade & Smoked Silver. I know you have already seen many reviews and swatches of these but hey! I still want you to see them from perspective of a self-proclaimed eyeliner-crazy girl (Yep that’s me 😉 )

Maybelline the Colossal Kohl Review

Maybelline has introduce these colored kohls in year 2015. I have decided to do a single post again for reviewing all 3 shades from Maybelline the Colossal Kohl Range so it becomes easier to see swatches and review of all 3 at the same place :) Enjoy the feast 😀

Price & Quantity:

249/- INR for 0.35gm.

Maybelline the Colossal Kohl Price

My Experience with Maybelline the Colossal Kohl Crushed Emerald, Jewelled Jade & Smoked Silver:

Packaging:

Same as regular colossol kajal, yellow twist up liner packaging but these have colored bands and graphics which indicates the color of the kohl :) The shade names are written on the body so you can call it sturdy color-coded packaging.

Maybelline the Colossal Kohls Crushed Emerald, jewelled jade & Smoked silver Review

Texture:

Texture of Maybelline the Colossal Kohl is not very creamy. Jewelled Jade is the creamiest of the lot then comes crushed emerald and last is smoked silver. These doesn’t tug or pull the eyes and formula is easily workable.

Color & Pigmentation:

Color of Crushed Emerald is beautiful rich emerald with golden sheen, Jewelled Jade is satiny teal blue and Smoked Silver is beautiful grey color with silver sheen :)

Pigmentation of Crushed Emerald and jewelled jade is good and in 2 swipes you get actual color on your eyes but with smoked silver you need 3-4 swipes to get actual color.

Maybelline the Colossal Kohls Crushed Emerald, Jewelled Jade & Smoked Silver Swatches

Performance:

I have tested Maybelline the Colossal Kohl on waterline (as a kajal) as well as lashline (as a liner). These have sheen but no glitter so these are safe to use on waterline and do not irritate my sensitive eyes. Crushed Emerald & Jewelled Jade has same performance, both stay put on my waterline for good 7-8 hours and then fade slightly but evenly. Smoked silver has a little lesser staying time of 5-6 hours on waterline. All 3 colors stay put on my very-slight oily lids for 9-10 hours. These do not smudge or get accumulated at corners unless you rub your eyes rigorously and you need to remove these with good oil based cleanser/makeup remover. Though I have faced color transfer on lids only once on a hot humid day when I did not set my eyes with powder so I suggest to set your eyes with powder to avoid any kind of color transfer on lids. Overall I love these a lot.

Now time for EOTDs…tadaaaa… 😀

Maybelline the Colossal Kohl Smoked Silver Swatches:

Maybelline the Colossal Kohl Smoked Silver Swatches

Final Verdict: 4/5

Maybelline the Colossal Kohl Crushed Emerald, Jewelled Jade & Smoked Silver are gorgeous shades with metallic sheen which comes with a affordable price tag. They have good pigmentation(smoked silver is not very pigmented), good staying power and non-smudge formula which will get you through the day without any worries :) The colors look beautiful on eyes and brightens them up. Crushed Emerald & jewelled jade are my favorite and I wear them a lot. Smoked silver is my least favorite of the lot.

Repurchase: Already repurchased all 3.

Recommended:

Crushed Emerald & Jewelled Jade : Absolutely yes.

Smoked silver: Your choice. I love it anyways :)
