OOTD : Layers

Heylo Everyone,

How have you been? Sorry for MIA so long, I was busy practicing for our Dance Class’s annual show :), it was on Friday and we rocked it 😀 So I’m back with full on energy and promise to be regular again 🙂 Our past couple of months have been super busy and hectic with Mr Husband gone to US and i had to manage so many things here plus it was my birthday month 🙂 I have made a tradition that I gift myself with something from my wishlist every birthday and this year I’ve  gifted 2 Chambor xtreme wear matte lipcolors this birthday(Reviews and Swatches lined up) 🙂 though my birthday shopping is still due and Mr Husband is going to be the one taking me shopping 😀 Oh and I got brand new laptop this birthday 🙂 So anyways after this hectic schedule we finally managed to take out sometime for ourselves and had a weekend getaway to Rusticville Camping ground with family 🙂 The trip details are shared at twosomelife. And I’m here with OOTD from that trip.

I live by this quote. I don’t plan my outfits beforehand(except for my wedding ofcourse), whenever I have to go somewhere I open my wardrobe and then see what I want to wear at that moment and this way I never feel conscious because I am wearing clothes as per my mood as well as occasion. It is so me and I believe in comfort fashion.

So for this camping trip as per location and weather I have decided to wear layers because layering clothes give you options to cope with varying temperature. And i was in mood of layering so why not add everything in layers for the whole outfit. I was in colorful and happy mood.

I have decided to wear my super comfy cotton blend bright pink harem-dhoti style pants which has two pockets backside. These pants are so comfy that you feel you are not wearing anything at all, what can be more comfortable for a camping trip than these pairs then 🙂 I wore black racer back on this and over that I threw this yellow shrug with colorful print all over.

For jewelry also I have gone for layers and decided to wear mix and match bangles in one hand, DW watch and my hair-ties in other hand and a beautiful layered necklace 🙂 I have chosen to stick with my simple small gold earring as everything else was loud 🙂 For footwear I have opted for black embroidered Mojaris which are comfortable choice again. Oh! btw have you noticed my new reflectors??? 😉

No makeup except kajal and lipbalm 🙂

The place was beautiful, I just sat and admired the nature’s creation for hours. The sunset was beautiful. And there were hammocks on trees where you could lie and gaze at starts while the cool breeze caressed your skin and hair. So calming experience for mind and soul. Read the full story here.

My Dresslink Haul & Site Review

A few days back I’ve shared my wishlist from Dresslink (You can checkout the post here), well I have shopped from Dresslink and the order is delivered 🙂 So I’m here to share my experience with the site and stuff I have shopped from them.

Here is what all I hauled from them 🙂

On registering on Dresslink.com, you get few coupons/cash points which you can use to pay a p[art of your order. I have ordered total 5 items and including shipping order total was around $25. For India they provide only paid shipping option, I have opted for aramax Shipping method and my order got delivered in 7 days 🙂

There are several payment option like credit card, western union, paypal etc. You get notifications on each order status update. The overall ordering experience is good 🙂

Now coming to the stuff quality, I would say the quality of the products is worth the price.

The leaf statement necklace was delivered broken and I had to reassemble it, also in the necklace there are few charms which are made of plastic not metal.

The rope chain necklace is good quality and exactly as it looks in picture on site.

Leaf belt is of great quality and can be styled over multiple outfits 🙂

The white lace top is amazing and love the quality of lace on it. Size is as per measurements mentioned on site.

The evening dress was the piece i was the most excited about. The fabric quality is good and the dress looks exactly as picture BUT(yes it is a big but) measurement on site are not accurate. For all other clothing I was size “L” as per measurement but for this one size matching was to “XL”. I was skeptical but I still ordered it because t is better to get a larger size than a smaller one. And as expected the dress is one size larger for me., also the length of the gown is just about my height, so no 4 inch heels with this one 🙁 and i guess smaller sizes will have slightly shorter length.

My overall experience with Dresslink has been good. Despite few glitches the stuff is worth the price you pay for and since you are availing flat rate tracked shipping there is no worry about your package getting lost in post office unlike china posts 🙂

Skin18 Luke Nose Cleansing Strips Review

Recently I have been hearing great things about skin18 products so when there was a blogger programme was launched, I volunteered to try out their samples 🙂 Today I’m here with review of Skin18 Luke Charcoal & Lemon Tea Tree Nose Cleansing Strips. Read on to know my views on individual strips.

Review of Skin18 Luke Charcoal Nose Cleansing Strips:

Skin18 Luke Charcoal Nose Cleansing Strips come in a sachet format and once you open the sachet you see a black strip on transparent plastic.

You have to peel off the strip and apply smoother side on wet nose. Let it sit for 10-20 mins and peel it off once it gets little stiff. I used the strip same way.

First thing which bothered me was strong chemical scent which came from the strip. I removed it in approx 15 mins, I do not have major blackheads or whiteheads but whatever teeny-meeny one’s i have, this strip took them away. Though it might not work effectively on stubborn blackheads in one go 🙂

Review of Skin18 LUKE Lemon Tea Tree Nose Cleansing Strips:

Skin18 LUKE Lemon Tea Tree Nose Cleansing Strips come in yellow sachet and once you open it, you see off-white colored strip on a plastic film.

You have to use the strip by peeling it off plastic film and apply smoother side on wet nose. Leave it on for 10-20 mins then peel it off. This one also has string chemical scent but this works effectively on removing whiteheads, grim, oil and dirt and nose feel smoother.

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

Skin18 LUKE Nose cleansing strips are good alternative when you are feeling lazy to do full-on bleakhead-white head removal process. Though these strips get rid of white heads, oil, dirt and grim from nose pores, these might not work on stubborn blackheads. These nose cleansing strips smells chemically but smell fades when you apply them. These are quite handy to travel with 🙂

Recommended: Yes.
Repurchase: Yes.

Votre Face Serum Review

I’m into skin serums lately ever since I have used Just herbs Serum which I reviewed here. I have received Votre Face serum in my fabbag and I have used it and finished it, so I’m ready to share my review on it.

Votre Face Serum:

This Aqua rich revitalizing (PM) serum enriched with virgin cold pressed oils, Herbal blends & innovative Molecules! Which helps to brighten the complexion and reduce fine lines.

How do you use it?

Take a small amount of the serum and massage onto the face till it gets absorbed.

Price, Quantity, Shelf-life & Buy in India:

1670/- INR for 12ml. 18 months of shelf-life.

Ingredients:

Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba oil), Glycyrrhiza glabra (Licorice extract) , Pelargoneum Roseum (Geranium oil), Olea Europaea (Olive oil), Prunus dulcis (Almond oil), Citrus sinensis (Orange peel extract), Prunus brigantine(Apricot oil ), Citurs limon (Lemon extract), Rosa canina(rosehip oil), Base Q.S.

My Experience with Votre Face Serum:

Votre Face serum comes in a brown glass bottle with glass dropper. The packaging is not sturdy and I dropped the dropper in the end and it broke. The serum is white colored semi transparent semi-liquid which is non-sticky. It gets absorbed into skin and 3-4 drops are enough for face and neck area.

I usually apply this after my toner and it gets absorbed into skin pretty well and keeps it hydrated. It acts as a good base my BB cream/foundation glides well on top of this. It smells of rose oil and smell is not bothersome.It keeps my dry patches hydrated.

It did not make my skin feel extra-ordinary neither did it add any extra happy skin days glow to my face like just herbs serum did. It did not do anything for my then irritated skin. I have used it for a month and I did not notice any changes in my laugh-lines and under eye finelines. It lightened my freckles to some extent though.

If you have oil/combination skin you can skip moisturizer but if you have normal to dry skin then moisturizer is must before applying makeup as well.

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

Votre Face Serum is light weight non-greasy hydrating serum which can be used by all skin types. It works on lightening the spots and takes care of dry patches. It makes a good base for makeup. Ingredient list is promising and it is paraben free. BUT (yes it has to be in CAPS) it is super duper costly and lots of product gets wasted due to inconvenient packaging. It does not work on fine lines and did not soothe irritated skin. It did not add any extra glow or did not give my skin the happy-skin day’s glow like Just Herbs serum did.

Recommended: Yes, if you need good hydrating serum and you can ignore the price tag.

Repurchase: No, Too pricey for me and my skin loved Just Herbs Serum more than this.

OOTD : Monochrome Stripes

Heylo Everyone,

These days I’m obsessed with long dresses and Blue-white is my favorite combination in summers. I have spotted this monochrome stripes dress in westside sale and I and Mr hubby both grabbed it together 😀 and in today’s OOTD is featuring the same.

I have styled it with with simple accessories like charm bracelet and blue studded necklace with matching studs. I wore this outfit in daytime so kept my makeup bold as outfit was simple.

My Experience with Oriflame Pure Nature Strawberry Fruit Extract Face Moisturizer:

First of all I’m in love with the packaging of Oriflame Pure Nature Strawberry Fruit Extract Face Moisturizer which is opaque tube in strawberry color and strawberries print on it.

It has screw open cap but i prefer flip top. Ingredient list is mentioned on the tube. It smells heavenly of strawberries and smell lingers quite of while so if you are not someone who appreciates fruity fragrance, better skip it.

Oriflame Pure Nature Strawberry Fruit Extract Face Moisturizer has pale pink color and creamy consistency which does not look very thick but when I apply it on my face I feel it is a bit too rich for my combination skin, though in winters it provides sufficient moisturization for my skin. It did not irritate or broke my sensitive skin. I have finished using it as hand cream and that way it works quite well.

Final Verdict: 3/5

Oriflame Pure Nature Strawberry Fruit Extract Face Moisturizer will suit people with normal to dry skin. It smells heavenly of strawberries, so all strawberry lovers do give it a try. It is not for combination to oily skin.

Repurchase: No. It worked well in winters but most of the time I have combination skin.
Recommended: Yes but only to normal to dry skinned people.

OOTD : Pretty in Pink

My love for ethnic wear is not hidden from you all. I love wearing kurtas in office a lot and lakhnawi chicken embroidered kurtas has special place in my heart, I absolutely adore lakhnawi chicken embroidery so much that I went ahead and learn how to do it. In today’s OOTD Pretty in Pink, I’m going to share how I styled my Lakhnawi Chicken Embroidered Pretty Pink Kurta 🙂

This pretty pink georgette kurta has anarkali pattern and has white embroidery all over, both front and back side. I grabbed this beautiful piece at handicraft exhibition in Indore. I love street shopping and shopping at exhibitions over shopping in malls as i think you find variety of stuff and that too at reasonably price. I wore this pretty pink kurta with white chudidar. Since I wore this to office on ethnic day so I chose to keep accessories and makeup simple. I wore silver butterflies earrings, silver entangled bangles, my DW watch and white heels.
