My Review and Swatches of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Amsterdam SMLC01:
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams has been my most craved product by NYX and has been in my wishlist forever but I was not able to get my hands on it as it was always out of stock on authentic sites and I was scared that I might get first copy if i do not buy from authentic site ans since i did not have a single original piece to compare with, I have decided not to take risk. So when I was in gurgaon I have not missed the opportunity to grab this from Sephora India. This was the only bright shade out of 5-6 shades which were available at sephora Gurgaon that time. As soon as I swatched it, I decided to buy it without a second thought.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Amsterdam comes in a transparent tube which is kind of regular lipgloss type packaging. It has matte black cap and a doe-tip applicator. Pardon me please, I’m really bad at explaining packaging. Shade number is written at cap and bottom of tube. Shade name is written only at bottom. The packaging in this pic is same as listed on NYX’s original website so if you buy these online and get different packaging then you should be alert that it might be very old product or copy as well.
As soon as you open the cap you are welcomed with delicious vanilla scent. The texture of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Amsterdam is whipped mousse like which goes smoothly on lips and set into matte finish within a minute.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Amsterdam is a pink based red which will look flattering on all skin tones. It is superbly pigmented and 1 swipe is all you need to cover even pigmented lips. You can layer it without worrying that it would crumble. It feels velvety on lips and not very uncomfortable or drying like most of the matte lipsticks.
My lips do not get dry with matte lipsticks in normal weather so I do not prep my lips beforehand but in colder weather I apply lipbalm to prep my lips so if your lips tend to get superdry then I would suggest prepping(scrub & Lipbalm) your lips before applying these. The staying power of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Amsterdam is average given we have long lasting formulas these days. It stays for good 5-6 hours and survives full meals in between, unless ofcourse if you eat something oily then it fades from centre of your lips. Reapplying this is non-messy 🙂 After meals sometime i notice slight flaking on my lips but nothing major.

For me NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Amsterdam is total winner. Be it flattering red shade, velvety mousse texture, yummy vanilla scent or comfortable matte formula, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Amsterdam stole my heart all the way.
