Bioderma Photoderm AKN Mat Sunscreen SPF 30 Review

I’m not very big on sunscreen on day to day basis because I hate layering up too many products rather I prefer using products with SPF. But summer days or vacations are exceptional as the sun is harsher and time of exposure to sun is more. So I keep sunscreens in my stash anyway. So far my favourite sunscreens/sunblocks are by Lotus. Reviewed Lotus Matte Sun Screen Gel SPF50 already. Today I’m here with review of Bioderma Photoderm AKN Mat Sunscreen SPF 30. I have received 2 samples of 5ml in My envy Box and one 5ml sample in fabbag. So I have used all 3 and ready to share my views on it.

Instructions for use:

Several times a day when exposed to the sun

• Apply evenly and liberally before exposure (a smaller amount of product reduces the level of photoprotection).

My Experience with Bioderma Photoderm AKN Mat Sunscreen SPF 30:

Bioderma Photoderm AKN Mat Sunscreen SPF 30 comes in a white plastic tube and unlike samples the full size product has orange flip open cap. The packaging has typical Bioderma font. It is travel friendly.

Bioderma Photoderm AKN Mat Sunscreen SPF 30 is white fluid which spreads easily on skin and looks shiney and little white on skin as soon as applied but after about 1-2 mins it gets absorbed fully into skin leaving no white cast and sets into mat finish.

I use it on it’s own as well as by mixing it with my moisturiser, either way it does not make my combination skin oily for good 5-6 hours. It acts as a primer as well and makeup glides well on top of it. It is water resistant so if you sweat a lot this is perfect choice for you.

It does not break me out so it is perfect for sensitive skin as well also it provided good sun protection in winters. Right now I’m using SPF 50 version and will update you on that soon.

Final Verdict: 4.5/5

Bioderma Photoderm AKN Mat Sunscreen SPF 30 is one of the very few sunscreens which suited my sensitive skin without breaking it out or stinging. It mattifies skin so oily/combination skinnned people must try it. The only thing which is bothersome to me is presence of perfume/scent in ingredients as it can be irriating to sensitive skin sometimes but thankfully it did not irritate my skin. I wish it did not come with a hefty price tag though it will last you a long time if you use it only for face 🙂

Recommended: Yes for oily/combination skin. Dry skin might find it a bit over matte 🙂
Repurchase: Probably yes if spotted on discount.
